The goal of this website is to keep the citizens of Alexandria and the employees of its school system informed on the latest goings on.

Hello, I am Alex's Pen, and thank you so much for being here. 

​

Like you, I am a citizen of Alexandria who has a deep passion for our public schools. I love the city and its schools but I do not love how they have been treated. These past few years we have seen our public education leaders take us down a path which stifles community input through top-down decision making and lack of quality stakeholder engagement. 

One way this lack of engagement manifests is the lack of transparency and distribution of information to you, the community. This site aims to combat that. My goal as this site's author is to provide you all the most up-to-date information about what is impacting our public school's from my unique perspective. My hope is that you, the community, will take this information, mobilize, and help create the change our city needs. 

I am tired of seeing our tremendous public educators (i.e. teachers, bus drivers, custodians, food service workers, etc.) not get their just rewards. I am tired of seeing our students not get the very best education our city can buy. 

Let's ban together to help create a better Alexandria!
