NOTICE: RSVP Form for EAA Collective Bargaining Meeting Sent

As mentioned in our "Upcoming Meetings" article the EAA Collective Bargaining Committee has an open-to-members meeting at 4:30 PM on January 31, 2024. Union leadership had instructed staff to RSVP to the event where they would be unveiling their formal response to the ACPS School Board's collective bargaining resolution draft.

However, Union President, Dawn Lucas, did not send the RSVP form out until around 5:00 PM on January 30, 2024, less than 24 hours before the beginning of the vital meeting.

Many rank-and-file union members, who wish to remain anonymous, expressed concern at the timing of the communication for a meeting which would impact so many members. One such member expressed their frustration, stating that they had instructed many of their colleagues to RSVP for the event only for them to have no way to do so.

Another member communicated that they were worried that attendance would not be what it should be due to the "mishap." Still, other members conveyed confusion as they had not even received an email from the EAA explaining that there was a meeting, much less what the meeting is about.
